Configure Agent Memory Settings In NexaEra Dashboard

"Nothing kills a customer experience faster than an agent that forgets everything the moment a chat ends. Memory fixes that. It's your agent's notebook — facts, preferences, and rules it carries from one conversation to the next. In this walkthrough, I'll show you how to open the Memory tab and teach your agent something it'll never forget."

1. Introduction

"Here's what you'll be able to do by the end: add your own memory entries, pick the right type for each one, and save them so your agent stays consistent and personal across every conversation."

Introduction

2. Access All Agents Section

"Start by clicking 'All Agents' in the left menu. This opens the list of every agent in your workspace."

Access All Agents Section

3. Open Support & Refunds Assistant

"Click the agent you want to work on — here it's the Support & Refunds Assistant. You can edit an existing agent or build a new one; either way, this opens its full editor."

Open Support & Refunds Assistant

4. Navigate to Memory Tab

"Along the top, click the 'Memory' tab. This is where your agent's stored knowledge lives. As your agent runs tasks, it automatically saves important findings here so it can reference them later — like a notebook it keeps between sessions."

5. Add New Memory Entry

"Your agent builds memory on its own, but you can teach it things directly too. Click '+ Add Memory' on the right. A window opens called 'Teach Your Agent Something New' — this is where you add a company rule, a preference, or any detail it should always remember."

6. Select Memory Category

"First, pick what kind of memory this is. Open the dropdown and you'll see three options. 'Fact' is for concrete information, like your business hours. 'Summary' condenses a longer piece of context. And 'Preference' — the one we'll use — controls how your agent behaves and responds: its tone, style, and formatting."

Select Memory Category

7. Activate Memory Input Field

"Now click the box that says 'Type what you want your agent to know.' Write your instruction in plain language — something like 'Avoid being pushy or overly sales-oriented; focus on helping customers find the right solution.' Need inspiration? Click any of the examples below to drop it right in."

Activate Memory Input Field

8. Save Memory to Agent

"When your entry looks good, click 'Save to Agent Memory.' You'll see a confirmation that the memory was added, and it'll now appear in your list — tagged by type, so it's easy to find later."

Save Memory to Agent

9. Update Memory Settings

"One last step. Click the 'Update' button in the top right to finalize everything and apply it to your agent. This is what makes your new memory live — don't skip it."

Update Memory Settings

"And that's it. Your agent now remembers the rules and preferences that matter to your brand, so it stays consistent and personal in every single conversation. Add as many memories as you like — the more it knows, the better it gets. Nice work."
