Create And Manage API Keys In Cal.com Settings

Go to app.cal.com

1. Introduction

Once you sign in, you'll land on your Cal.com dashboard showing your event types. Over the next few steps, you'll generate a new API key and copy it for your applications. To begin, look down at the bottom-left of the screen.

2. Access Settings Menu

At the bottom-left, click "Settings." This opens Cal.com's configuration menu, where your account and developer options live.

3. Open API Keys Section

In the Settings menu, scroll to the "Developer" group and click "API keys." This is where you view and manage all your keys.

4. Initiate New API Key Creation

Because this is your first key, you'll see a "Create your first API key" prompt. Click the "New" button to start creating one.

5. Name Your API Key

In the dialog, click the "Name this key" field and type a descriptive name, like "My Key," so you can recognize it later.

6. Select 30-Day Expiration

Next, set how long the key should stay valid. Open the Expiration date dropdown and choose "30 days." A shorter lifespan is more secure, since the key automatically stops working after that window. Or select whatever is suitable for you.

7. Create The API Key

With your name and expiration in place, click "Create" to generate the key with those settings.

8. Copy The API Key

Your key is ready. This is the only time Cal.com will show it, so don't close this yet. Click the copy icon to grab the key, then paste it somewhere safe right away, like a password manager or your project's environment variables.

9. Complete API Key Setup

Once your key is safely copied and stored, click "Done" to finish up and return to the API keys list, where your new key now appears.
